Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that repairs facial skin damaged from the sun and aging.
The MD Peel microdermabrasion system is a revolutionary method of providing a peel to the epidermidis. It uses a unique system of a compressor and a suction pump that work in unison to project sterile Corundum Microcrystals onto the skin with controllable intensity.
Are you a candidate?
Ideal candidates for microdermabrasion are healthy adults who have relatively minor skin conditions or imperfections. Typical facial problems treated include:
- Acne
- Acne scars
- Rosacea
Procedure Description
A small tool is used to spray microscopic crystals onto the skin. These tiny crystals are the cause of the abrasions, and when combined with suction, remove the outer most layer of the skin. As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation.
Recovery
After the first microdermabrasion treatment, the complexion will have a pink or red glow, which typically fades after a day. The skin may feel as though it were sun- or wind burned, but this sensation should subside fairly quickly. During microdermabrasion recovery, patients generally experience immediate improvements, but optimal results will not be visible until the patient has completed all recommended treatments.
